Web Accessibility Testing & Audits
What We Test

WCAG 2.2 Guidelines
Our accessibility audit rates your website against the Web Accessibility Initiative WCAG 2.2 guidelines.
We provide a report detailing how your website performed, which success criteria it passes or fails and how to fix any problems.
We test the following:
Our Audit Process
Divided into five Distinct Stages
Stage 4: Reporting
Stage 5: Knowledge Transfer & Support

Our Approach
We Separate the Template from the Content
Critical to the success of our unique methodology is the separation of the Template aspects of a page from the Content.
Template Assessment
The first step in making any website accessible is to begin with accessible template (e.g. the page header, main nav, sub nav & footer).
We report each instance of an issue identified in the website template .
Content Assessment
The second step is to ensure all the content is accessible.
Content issues concern site content, including text, links, images, tables, forms or multimedia content (sound and video files).
Audit Sample
Selection is Key to Success
Essential to the ultimate success of an accessibility audit is setting the website audit sample.
We work closely with clients to identify and create the sample of the audit content, usually around 30 unique pages.
We carefully craft the sample, and follow the WCAG-EM to ensure the sample is representative of all content types and functionality across the site, as well as important pages and pages that have high levels of internet traffic.

How We Test
Our consultants are technical accessibility experts with years of experience, who have undertaken hundreds of audits.
Expert Human Analysis
Our team manually review each page against the WCAG 2.2.
Testing Software
We use a combination of accessibility software (WAVE, etc).
Assistive Technology
We test each page using screen readers (JAWS, NVDA) & magnifiers.
Mobile: Responsive Websites
We test on mobile devices with VoiceOver on iOS & TalkBack on Android.
User Testing
We test the site with a blind user accessing a screen reader.
Keyboard Only
We ensure all functionality works with a keyboard.
Our Audit Reports
Our Accessibility Audit Consists of two Reports
One for product owners, project managers and the other for designers, developers and content authors.
Dashboard Report
A 30 page report including the website WCAG 2.2 score and key findings.
Prioritising and highlighting issues in terms of content type, severity and prevalence.
Findings Report
A report that lists the website's accessibility issues, the impact on users and technical recommendations on how to resolve them.
Including code snippets, examples and screenshots.
Our Findings Reports
Our reports are easy to read and understand, whilst offering technical recommendations and bespoke code solutions.
Our reports greatly speed up re-development time and effort, by grouping issues by type and assigning them to the correct resources for fixing, as well as categorising issues as part of the Template or Content.
Issue Description
We cite the relevant WCAG Success Criterion, and provide a detailed outline of the issue.
Impact of the Issue
A description of the impact the issue has on real end users.
Bespoke Recommendations
Tailor-made recommendations including code snippets and screen grabs to illustrate each issue.
Related Success Techniques
A list of associated WCAG Success Techniques.
Template & Content
Issues are categorised as Template or Content.
We Identify Who Should Fix an Issue
- Content Editors
- Developers
- Designers
- Multimedia
Mobile / Desktop
Which viewport the issue occurs in.
We Categorise Each Issue
- Image, Multimedia & Colour
- Structure & Content
- Navigation
- Forms & Interaction
Users' Feedback
Feedback from a blind screen reader user.
Severity
All issues are not equal. We rate each issue from Minor (minor issue that is a matter of technical compliance and has little impact) through to Problematic, Serious and Catastrophic.
Prevalence
We identify how prevalent the issue is across the sample (Low, Medium, High, Very-High).
We Include More Examples
One big failure of traditional audits is a lack of examples.
Test Method
How developers can replicate each test & ensure an issue is fixed.
Audit Handover & Support
Presentation of Findings
Handover of the audit report, and a presentation of the audit findings and phone workshop.
Support
Each audit comes with an extended four hours email and phone support over 60 days.
We also provide support on an ad-hoc basis at an hourly rate if required, learn more.
Flexible Recommendations
One size doesn’t always fit all, especially with web applications and complex websites. If a recommendation can't be implemented, we are happy to work with your team to identify an alternative.

WCAG 2.2 Certification
After your website has been audited against the Web Accessibility Initiative WCAG 2.2 guidelines Level A and AA and all issues have been addressed, we can issue your website with a WCAG Compliance Certificate and website logo.
